Collect 2022: Memories Live Here

For Collect 2022, Ruup & Form curates the exhibition ‘Memories Live Here’. The curatorial premise is themes of freedom and expression through memory. Memory in its literal meaning is an act or fact of retaining and recalling impressions, facts – remembrance and recollections. Though in actualisation, memories are more complex and layered as they intertwine with identities, personal history, cultural notions, and confabulations alike. They are as much an indication of personal identity as a dream like scenario believed to be real.

This collection of works interweaves narratives that balances the distinction between form and personal stories. The theme is a stimulus to activate human stories, considering composition, technique, materials; and transforming them into objects with emotional weight.

Presenting works by:

Melissa Aldrete & Luis Cardenas || Anne Butler || Isabel Dodd || Eva Fernandez Martos || Bridget Harvey || Hannah Lobley || Kuniko Maeda || Claire Malet || Naomi Mcintosh || Archana Pathak || Zoe Preece || Annette Marie Townsend || Hannah Walters
